Invitation
The 2019 Colorado State EMS Conference will be held November 7-10, 2019 at the Keystone Resort & Conference Center, Keystone, Colorado.

Audience
The conference audience includes emergency medical service (EMS) providers, managers, administrators, and allied health professionals involved in some aspect of emergency care in Colorado and the western United States. More than 1000 people attended the 2018 Conference and the event continues to grow each year.

Conference attendees want to learn about unique, state of the art, cutting-edge subjects and to earn continuing education based on core medical and trauma topics.

Format & Session Length
Conference education sessions are offered in 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hour blocks. Pre-Conference workshops are offered in 4 hour and 8 hour blocks on Thursday, November 7; workshops have separate registration fees.

Topics & Tracks
Based on these interests, we are requesting proposals for innovative and unique topics, as well as core curriculum, for the following six conference tracks:

ALS Core Knowledge These sessions are geared to advance EMS providers or those who desire a challenge. The presentation may review core concepts and skills at the EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, and RN level.
BLS Core Knowledge These sessions are designed to cover crucial core concepts and techniques relevant to enhancing the knowledge base at the first Responder and EMT-Basic level.
Career Development These sessions may include a variety of topics from enhancing presentation techniques to improving the learning environment. The presentation may include basic and advanced subjects for EMS managers, administrators, and EMS educators.
Specialty Topics These sessions are targeted for the non-traditional EMS provider and can be tailored to the basic or advanced level. The presentation may include current ideas for responding to unique situations encountered in the field and other issues not typically addressed in core knowledge tracks.
Case Review Presentations These sessions include a comprehensive patient review and course of care from pre-hospital to hospital to discharge. The presentation may be shared in a trip sheet review format or presented from the patient’s perspective. These sessions are applicable for both basic and advanced levels.
Skills and Hands-on Sessions The hands-on skills stations are designed to allow participants to practice skills that they may not have had the opportunity to perform frequently. EMS professionals will facilitate and guide providers through procedures, answer questions and proctor the stations. Lecture instructors may be invited to assist in these areas.


Selection Criteria
Proposals will be reviewed and selected based upon the following criteria:
 
• Unique, cutting edge or timely subjects
 
• Thorough description of the presentation and learning objectives
 
• Anticipated attendee interest in the subject matter
 
• Appropriateness for the conference tracks and/or session periods
 
• Participant interaction or format of the presentation
 
• Presentation experience of the educator
 
Submitting proposals for various topics may increase your chances of being selected as a conference presenter. You may submit as many proposals as you desire. Education sessions that include participant interaction are preferred.

Fees & Expenses
Presenters may expect to receive an honoraria and reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses. Confirmed speakers will receive a faculty agreement outlining all compensation and expense reimbursement policies.

Proposal Deadline
To better assist our Curriculum Committee in evaluating your presentation, please submit your proposal on our official Presentation Proposal System. A brief biological sketch of the presenter(s) should be included with your proposal.

Your complete proposal must be received by Friday, March 15, 2019 for review and consideration by the Curriculum Committee. Proposals received after this date may be considered for the 2020 Conference. 

Confirmation
The Curriculum Committee will review proposals and make preliminary proposal selections in April 2019. An acknowledgement will be sent to confirm the status of your presentation proposal(s) after this time.

Submit Proposal
Please use the online system to submit your proposals and a brief biographical. Each proposal must be submitted using our online submission system. Proposal not submitted using this system will not be considered.
